Our Story

Knock Knock Organics began with a simple passion for growing. For Eric Sandtmann, this love of nurturing plants has blossomed into a thriving local business. While initially focused on broader organic vegetable deliveries, Eric shifted his attention to the fast-growing goodness of microgreens, salad greens, and herbs, finding a fruitful path forward.

Grown with dedication at his city home, Knock Knock Organics supplies Village Berries, Pak'nSave, and local restaurants and cafés with fresh, vibrant produce. While not officially certified organic, Eric is committed to clean growing practices, sourcing compost from BioRich in Hawke's Bay, using minimal certified organic fertiliser, and avoiding sprays. He meticulously selects seeds to ensure top quality.

Always innovating, Eric experiments with new varieties like bright red amaranths. He understands the nuances of local growing conditions, adapting his methods to ensure the best possible harvest. The exceptional freshness and longevity of his greens have earned a loyal following, a testament to the quality he prioritises.

Knock Knock Organics is grateful for the support of the community and partners like Village Berries. Eric's long-term vision is to expand his operation, with the dream of establishing his own organic market garden. Driven by a love for seeing things grow and a commitment to providing fresh, locally sourced food, Eric is dedicated to nurturing his passion and bringing the best of his garden to your table.
